- 4 slices artisan bread
- 2 thick slices local ham off the bone
- Grated cheddar, Gruyère cheese or Emmental, to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 420F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; place two slices of bread on the prepared sheet; top with a slice of ham each and sprinkle with cheese to cover. Top with another slice of bread and sprinkle evenly with more cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned, about 8 minutes.
Serve immediately with a simple salad of fresh greens dressed with lemon and olive oil.
