Gardening with Class 2018 is the San Diego County Master Gardener Association’s biennial conference for teachers, parents, and others who are involved with one of the more than 700 school gardens throughout the county.
The all-day conference will be held on Saturday, October 20th at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Attendees will have the opportunity to sit in on workshops presented by Master Gardeners on creating and sustaining school gardens, cooking in the garden; educational use and health benefits of school gardens; best practices for bringing NGSS into the garden; plant propagation on a shoestring; and many other subjects.
Continental breakfast & lunch will be provided. Prizes and free veggie pots to take home. Please let teachers and your friends with school age children know about the conference.
And this week, an amazing opportunity has presented itself for persons interested in attending, We have received generous donations from the Village Garden Club of La Jolla, Fagan, Friedman and Fulfrost Attorneys at Law, and Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators designed to provide more than 30 scholarships for attendees.
The scholarships will be provided in the form of reimbursements of the $50 registration fee.
