In an effort to connect our readers to all things authentically local, we are featuring the paintings of six San Diego artists on our 2017 covers. It started with the January cover, an oil on canvas painted by Edible San Diego’s Managing Editor, Riley Davenport. Our March issue showcased a beautiful watercolor painted by Jane LaFazio, and our current May issue features the work of R.D. Riccoboni. We can’t wait until July for you to see the cover for our Cooks issue. It’s a very unexpected look for us, which is what we love about it.
We are planning our final two covers of the year and want to consider your work, so we’ve come up with two contests to engage with San Diego artists.
The first contest will help to select a cover for the September issue. We will accept submissions from May 16-June 30, 2017. A second contest will be announced later for our November issue, but we’ll give you a hint on the theme: it’s Celebrations.
Paintings submitted should be relevant to the themes of the issues and in alignment with the mission of Edible San Diego.
