Farm Fresh To You has a vision to help communities and sustainable farms connect through a transparent food system. And their customizable, home-delivered organic produce boxes make participating in that goal an easy choice.
It all began with the founding of Northern California farm, Capay Organic, in 1976. The farm was originally meant to supply the local farmers market, but in 1992, Kathleen Barsotti, heard about a new concept called a “CSA” from a farmer friend in San Diego, inspiring her to use her her parents’ station wagon to deliver produce boxes directly to individual homes.
Today, Kathleen’s three sons – Noah, Thaddeus and Freeman – run Farm Fresh To You. As they were growing up, Kathleen instilled in them a connection to the land by passing on important roles in the day-to-day operation of the family farm.
In 2007, they expanded their agricultural roots and began farming in other areas of Southern California and delivering 100% certified organic produce to customers in Los Angeles and San Diego.
Farm Fresh To You is unique in that customers can choose their box size, box type, and delivery frequency. There is also the option to customize deliveries by adding and removing produce items as well as to add on farm products like dairy, eggs, and over 600 artisanal goods, like coffee, bread, olive oil, nuts, flowers, honey, cheeses, meats and meat substitutes, sweet treats.
For the season, there are even a variety of holiday basket options available.
Customers also have the flexibility to skip deliveries and can elect to donate a skipped box to one of eleven food bank partners through the Donate-A-Box program. To date, the Donate-A-Box program has donated over 60,000 boxes to food banks in Southern California.
