Young Pecorino with Shaved Pear and Fig Jam

Creamy cheese, fresh pear, and sweet fig purposely plated make a stunning display and satisfying appetizer. Serve alongside a cheese or charcuterie board for an easy sweet and savory starter.

Ingredients

  • wedge of young pecorino cheese*, cut into 1/4" thick slices
  • 1 Bosc pear, cut into thin slices lengthwise
  • fig jam (find at your local farmers' market)

Instructions

On a serving platter arrange the slices of pecorino in a single layer. 

Top each slice of pecorino with a slice of pear and a teaspoon of fig jam.

*Young pecorino cheese is made from sheep's milk and is sometimes labeled "Toscano-style". Since it is aged only 1-3 months it is a soft, table cheese with a mild creamy flavor.
