Now Open: HOB Coffee in Poway

What started as a booth serving small batch, craft coffee roasted coffee at farmers markets around San Diego County, has expanded to a brick and mortar operation, and HOB's newest location just off of Poway Road near the 15, is a welcome addition to an area that is lacking in local coffee shop options.

The Space

Seating in the bright, airy little shop includes a scattering of outdoor seating, a three-seater bar, a few two-top tables, and two four-seater hightop tables.

The Vibe

The staff is friendly and helpful and you won't get any dirty looks for hanging out for extended periods of time, either chatting with a friend or tapping away on your laptop. With plenty of power outlets and an open wifi network, it is a cheerful place to work to the background sounds of 90s R&B and the hum of voices.

The Drinks

They typically have three to four single origin coffee beans, which are roasted right here in San Diego. Enjoy the premium beans in the form of 12 ounce or 16 ounce pour overs, or in your very own chemex 20 ounce brew for two. They also make a smooth lineup of espresso drinks, both traditional and whimsical, like their Kingslayer, a hot or cold espresso-based drink made with organic agave and steamed cinnamon powder. They even have a bright purple taro latte. Cold brew lovers can get their nitro fix in the shop, or with a filled growler to take home. Specialty tea drinks round out the menu, including the likes of chai and green tea lattes.
